Dear Producers of MSNBC's "Equal Time":
I would like to bring your attention to a
quote I recently received which one of
your correspondents on "Equal Time" uttered.
Paul Begala, one of your touted journalists
said on January 10th:
"When Republicans fight, it is like when
Iran and Iraq fight each other. You want
heavy casualties, on both sides".
This blatantly racist and bigoted statement
is not only indefensible for its lack of
racial insight, but also for its abominable
hint at the glee your reporter felt at the
tragic loss of over 1,000,000 lives. His
extremely callous and dangerous off-hand
remark on your network's prime time spot
reflects badly not only on Mr. Begala but
also on your Network's decision to air this
remark without apology.
