Once again and following the orders of the islamic leader having publicly
criticized the movement for secularity and democracy in raise in Iran;

The oppressive forces of the so-called government of law have attacked on
5/19/1999 several hundreds of students gathered in the
Ahmad-Abad locality (Near the city of Karadj and at about 25 miles of

The gathering was at for the commemoration of Dr. Mossadegh from one part;

And to request the publication of the so-called investigations of the
judiciary committee which is supposed to bring to justice the assassins of
the last wave of political murders, in which the Forouhars and several
writers were slaughtered by the secret services of the islamic republic from
the other part...

Based on this news and confirmed by several sources;

More than 100 students have been injured and several of them have been
hospitalized in critical conditions...

More than 80 students have been arrested by the islamic forces and the
authorities are refusing to let their parents know about their detention

One of the injured student leaders named Manouchehr Mohammadi
had to escape from the hospital as the security forces were trying to arrest
him in his critical condition...

Several cars and vans belonging to the students have been destroyed...

One of the speakers of the democracy movement in a phone interview from
Teheran and with the KRSI (Radio Iran of Los Angeles) declared:

" The struggle for democracy will continue and will not have any stop till
the recovery of the freedom in Iran..."

He added:" The today's clash was the biggest happened in the last 20 years
and our youth is proving this old saying that " Iran Will Never Die..."

French concern at arrests of Jews in Iran

19:38 GMT, 19 May 1999

PARIS, May 19 (AFP) -A French Jewish leader Wednesday called on foreign
minister Hubert Vedrine urgently to intervene over the reported arrest of 22
Jews in Iran some weeks ago, about whom nothing has been heard since.

In a statement to AFP, the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in
France said it was concerned at the fate of the 22.

There had been no news of them since their arrest and the reasons for the
arrests were not known.

The council president, Henri Hajdenberg, had asked urgently for a meeting
with the Iranian ambassador to Paris, the statement said.
