" An opinion poll, carried out through a form published in Hamshahri,
indicated that 98 percent of participants approved of Abdullah Nouri's

..Meanwhile, 99 percent said the court ruling was not fair, 91
percent called for a review of the case...
... 90 percent agreed with Nouri's testimony of Islam and clerics being
more respected during the regime of Mohammad-Reza Shah...and the country

IRAN NSF note:

-Iran had the 5th largest military in the world.
-More students were studying abroad then any other country.
-The Toman was 1 dollar to 5 or 6, soon to have become 1 to 1.
-Superpower of the east soon to have become globally.
-Held the largest military Maneuver in the world with 40,000+ troops
-Harvard had a business school in Tehran.
-Highest rate of employment ever.
-For certain European countries, Iran citizens need not have gotten
visas to visit.

It is not fair for our brothers and sisters to graduate from universities
in Iran and not be able to work for minimum wages.
Iranians have to be constantly reminded of Iran's great potential. 75 %
of the world's energy resides in Iran. How is the current regime using
this for the benefit of the country and the people?
20 years ago, Iran dominated the oil market and brought in so much capital
that they had to give out billions to foreign countries in order to avoid
supreme inflation.

Majlis Studies Bill on Annexing Articles to Law on GC Supervision

TEHRAN- Majlis in its open session yesterday deliberated on generalities of a
bill calling for annexation of several articles to the law on supervision of
the Guardians Council (GC) over parliamentary elections.

The main architect of the bill, whose double urgency had already been
ratified by the Majlis on Monday, as well as several MPs spoke in favor and
against the bill.

Interior Minister Abdolvahed Mousavi Lari told the audience that the bill had
technical flaws and its implementation would impose financial burden on the
government. There are no possibility to publish new ballot sheets (for the
Sixth Parliamentary Elections, slated for February 18), he added.

Lari said this practice (publication of new ballot sheets) would mean
discarding 45 million ballot sheets published over the past month.

Moreover, he said article four of the bill, which calls for registration of
the serial number of identification cards over all the three parts of the
proposed ballot sheets run counter to the constitution.

According to IRNA, the Majlis postponed further study of the case to its
Sunday session on December 26.

Moreover, the Majlis received a report, compiled by its Islamic guidance and
arts commission, on performance of the physical education organization.
